Chrysoprase Gemstone Cabochon
Chrysoprase is a rare valuable variety chalcedony or quartz. It’s green color comes from the traces of nickel. It was used by the ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians to make seals, signets and jewelry.
Beautiful Chrysoprase from Australia. Gorgeous bright apple green color. This cabochon is made from the same rough stone as the other Chrysoprase cabs on the site. The color is not as intense because this is a thin cab and it's translucent. This is a hard and tough stone but because of the thickness I would not recommend it for wire wrapping but for a fabricated metal piece with a back.
Measures 34 mm x 27 mm x 5 mm.
Approximately 1-3/8" x 1" x 3/16" thick.
