Stromatolite also known as Mary Ellen Jasper is the fossilized buildup of microbial mats that form in limestone. Formed by trapping particles of microorganisms such as bacteria and algae, these mats typically form above the sea floor.
This stone has a beautiful red color.
Measures 36 mm x 18 mm x 6 mm.
Approximately 1-3/8" x 5/8" x 1/4" thick.
