Dolomite Gemstone Cabochon
Dolomite is a common mineral that can be found in massive beds several hundred feet thick. Found all over the world, it is often called dolomitic limestone. How the dolomite beds formed is unknown. Dolomite is not known to form on the surface of the earth currently yet large layers of dolomite can be found in ancient rocks. Somehow dolomite undergoes a significant mineralogical change after it is deposited.
Measures 37 mm x 24 mm x 7 mm.
Approximately 1-1/2" x 1" x 1/4" thick.
